KOTA BHARU: A three-year-old nine-month-old boy who was previously in critical condition after allegedly taking drugs is now reported to be recovering from treatment at the Raja Perempuan Zainab II Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at HRPZ II, here .
The current Kelantan police chief, Datuk Muhamad Zaki Harun, said the child could now breathe normally and no longer use aids.
He said that if the situation continues to improve, it is possible that the child will be transported to Sultan Ismail Petra Hospital (HSIP) in Kuala Krai soon.
“Alhamdulillah, the condition of this child is improving and we all pray for his health to improve.
“He can be transferred to HSIP to make it easier for family members to visit and care for him,” he told reporters after meeting with the victim’s mother at HRPZ II here today.
Earlier, Muhamad Zaki together with the delegation of Kelantan Police Headquarters (IPK) together with the Vice President of the Kelantan Police Association (Perkep) Datin Suzana Yashin offered a gift from His Majesty Raja Perempuan Tengku’s mother.
Meanwhile, the victim’s 36-year-old mother said when she met that she was grateful that the condition of the younger of the three brothers was improving.
She said all donations from the interested public, including donations from Highness Raja Perempuan Tengku Anis, would be used as best they could for her son’s needs.
“My son can now eat through the tube and I hope he continues to grow better after that,” he said, who also cared for his son despite the pain he also endures because he also has stage IV cancer.
In the incident last Sunday, the child was in critical condition and had to sleep as he is believed to have “taken” an excess of methamphetamine after being left in the car by the suspect (his cousin’s father) when he was taken out to Kampung Sri. Bintang, Kuala Krai.
The 30-year-old suspect, who is also a hardcore addict, is still being held for further investigation by the police. –AlHijrah Online
